Wow, I’ve been reading your comments from readers about hoarding. I am married to a hoarder for 19 yrs. with two teenage children. Every week I sneak stuff into the trash after he has gone to work, and I take stuff to friends houses trash on other days. I know he will never miss anything I throw away because he has no idea what he has!! We have a huge house with a four car garage that I have never been able to put my car in. When his mother sold her house and move to a retirement community, he took all of the (useless) stuff she had collected!! What is it that makes the hoarder think this stuff is so valuable?? I don’t pretend any more, if he objects to my throwing something away I just shrug and do it anyway. M.
